Agricultural Improvement Plans: 1 in 3 applications will be approved.

Just one in three farmers is expected to see an approval on its request to the program of agricultural improvement plans, as the money are less than in the past, and are expected much more applications this year. The agricultural improvement plans will strengthen substantial investments in the agricultural sector, with emphasis on young farmers and with priority sectors of farming and in particular the sheep, fruit and vegetables, the greenhouse facilities and to the growing of resistant crops to climate change.

The subsidy rate varies depending on the region and the status of candidate recipient. Greater support will be given to increase the rate of aid to young farmers reaching up to 80%, in mountainous and disadvantaged areas and up to 75% and for the collaborative figures up to 85%. Priority is given to projects to improve related to farming, and in particular to the lacking in fruit and vegetables, the greenhouse installations and to the growing of crops resistant to climate change (such as the olive production).

With the agricultural improvement plans the aid supports investments such as the construction, expansion, modernisation of agricultural buildings, the purchase, transport and installation of new machinery and equipment, the installation of perennial crops, the purchase of equipment and farm management software and the general intangible costs. In addition, eligible investments construction of waste management, products and residues of the farm, purchase, transport and installation of new equipment for the production of energy from renewable sources and adapted to the energy needs of subsistence farming.

The period for the submission of proposals is from 21.12.2017 up to 02.04.2018.
